{"id":14,"date":"2023-05-30T11:10:07","date_gmt":"2023-05-30T09:10:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/irn-postcolonial-print-cultures.org\/?page_id=14"},"modified":"2025-06-09T19:10:00","modified_gmt":"2025-06-09T17:10:00","slug":"research-project-and-clusters","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/irn-postcolonial-print-cultures.org\/index.php\/research-project-and-clusters\/","title":{"rendered":"Research project and clusters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Cormorant Garamond';\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The network brings together scholars who situate themselves at the intersection of postcolonial studies and literatures, book and art history, print and material cultures who work in\/on a broad spectrum of languages, contexts and media. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Cormorant Garamond';\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">It aims at developing a comparative and transnational framework to understand how genres, forms and actors long considered \u2018footnotes of literary history\u2019 \u2013 the ephemeral non-canonical forms, genres and formats such as little magazines, periodicals and newspapers, tv and radio broadcasts, drafts, pamphlets, advertising material etc. \u2013 have in fact been instrumental to the development of postcolonial literary cultures, instrumental forces of postcolonial and decolonial struggles, and sites of North\/South and South\/South transnational exchanges. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Cormorant Garamond';\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">While developing scholarship on the hybrid, plural nature of so many of these archives (especially their engagement with oral and visual forms; with multilingual, translational practices; with pratices of performance) and increasing understanding of the cultural history of postcolonial societies, the network\u2019s wider academic importance lies in rethinking the frontiers of the literary \u2013 in part by yielding new insights into the ways by which our conception of literature is shaped culturally and historically, and shaped by the conditions of its production. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Cormorant Garamond';\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">We have identified the 5 following research clusters:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Cormorant Garamond'; font-size: 16px;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">I. <a href=\"http:\/\/irn-postcolonial-print-cultures.org\/index.php\/category\/archives-mapping-and-theorizing-postcolonial-print-culture-archives-and-their-digital-afterlives\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Archives: Mapping and Theorizing Postcolonial Print Culture Archives and their \u2018Digital Afterlives\u2019<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Cormorant Garamond'; font-size: 16px;\">II.
